The Contender brush truck is built for wildland firefighting
and urban interface applications. It is designed for
quick response to get two firefighters off road with
enough firefighting capabilities to attack a small brush
fire. The vehicle is available on a Ford F-550 all wheel
drive chassis that combines excellent ground clearance
with a low profile.
The body features an aluminum flatbed with channel
borders and a 1-inch extruded floor with non-skid deck.
Storage needs are met with 22 inch deep aluminum treadplate
compartments with two lift up doors on each side.
The Contender brush truck also features a 400 gallon
polypropylene water tank and rear mounted Waterous PB-18
2515 pump that runs off its own 18 horsepower electric
start engine. A Hannay electric rewind hosereel with
150 feet of 1 inch line is mounted atop the water tank
or at the rear of the vehicle.
The interior offers seating for two and a center console
that puts maps, switches and controls and the firefighters'
fingertips.
The Contender brush truck meets all NFPA 1906 specifications.
